The human body is comprised of an energy field, specifically called the biofield. The different levels of the biofield are the physical body, energy body, mental body, and the spiritual body. For true healing to occur all of these bodies have to be healed and many things/thoughts can weaken this field. We live in a society bombarded by cell phones, televisions, computers, etc. This subjects our fields to a constant electromagnetic stress. However, one simple thing we can do that specifically strengthens this biofield is earthing or grounding. Earthing is simply being on the earth's surface, the ground, the beach, barefoot. The natural flowing energy of the earth has free flowing electrons and electrical rhythms that provides a subtle electric signal that maintains health. These diurnal electrical rhythms set the biological clocks for hormones that regulate sleep and activity. The free electrons from the earth neutralize the positively charged free radicals that are the hallmark of inflammation. Therefore, frequently walking on the earth's atmosphere helps with reduction in pain, inflammation, improved balance of the nervous system, immune functions, circulation, and sleep patterns. Chronic inflammation alone has been cited in recent research to be the cause of almost every modern chronic illness. In addition, being more grounded could create a significant shift from a sympathetic to parasympathetic nervous system resulting in reduced cortisol levels. Furthermore, if one is injured and you connect to the earth, electrons will migrate into your body and spread through your tissues. Any free radicals that leak into the healthy tissue will immediately be electrically neutralized. This occurs because free radicals are positive while electrons are negative so they cancel each other out. If you spend a lot of time on the computer, live in a city or just do not go outside often, here are some sources to help with grounding. You can purchase grounding sheets, mats, auto mats, yoga mats, etc.

So many people come to me to lose weight and of course thyroid, hormone, candida issues aside, there is also one component that has to be addressed to effectively lose weight and keep it off. That component is the health of the liver. With everyone eating the standard American diet which is loaded with pesticides, antibiotics, sugar and hormones our liver is paying the price. Furthermore, the intake of pharmaceutical drugs and alcohol that is so prevalent in our culture is not helping. When too many of these substances are digested this causes inflammation and can lead to a leaky gut (food and toxins leak thru damaged intestine walls). Food and toxins are then trapped in fat cells that are accumulated in the liver. The liver's function is to process everything we drink or eat and filter any harmful substances in the blood. This process is interfered with if too much fat has accumulated in the liver. This in turn can cause a variety of conditions including, diabetes, obesity, chronic fatigue, high cholesterol, chronic inflammation, food allergies and metabolic syndrome to name a few. The liver can regenerate itself and here are a few things I recommend to keep it as healthy as possible!
