The Energy of Food

Expounding on the basis that everything is energy, in 2007,  I decided to explore this with food.  I bought David Wolfe's book, "The Sunfood Diet Success System," and did a raw food cleanse for one month. The premise behind this vegan raw food diet (nothing cooked above 104 degrees) is that when you cook food you are essentially destroying the vitamins and minerals in it.  In addition, when raw food was studied under kirlian photography, it seemed to have a greater energetic resonance.   Therefore, raw food should vibrate at a higher rate than cooked food.  Since humans are bio-electric beings this diet made sense to me.  The results were palpable and here are some of the things that I experienced as a result of doing this cleanse and continuing to primarily eat this way.
  • My chronic eczema was cured
  • I had a lot more energy
  • My blood sugar remained stable
  • I never got sick
  • I could get into the meditative state almost effortlessly
  • I always seemed happy  
  • I felt a lot lighter (it takes a great deal of energy for the body to digest food, especially meat and processed foods)
As a result of this I absolutely believe that the statement, "we are what we eat," is 100% true.  Furthermore, I believe so many health problems are caused by inflammation and can be cured with diet.  Fibromyalgia, eczema, allergies, asthma, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, crohn's disease, ADD, and thyroid issues, just to name a few, all have a root issue with inflammation.  Here is a great informative article by Dr. Mercola on inflammation and disease that elaborates on this:

Diet is also a huge component in how we feel.  Whole foods are the amino acid dietary precursors for neurotransmitter formation.  When we eat the standard American diet of processed foods we are not receiving these essential amino acids.  In addition, we are not receiving vitamins and minerals so our bodies are continuously hungry. When you eat a diet full of vitamins and minerals your body will be satiated and this will not lead to overeating that is so prevalent in our society.  Below I have listed some resources if you would like to incorporate more raw foods into your diet.

Why Can't I Lose Weight?

So many people come to me to lose weight and of course thyroid, hormone, candida issues aside, there is also one component that has to be addressed to effectively lose weight and keep it off.  That component is the health of the liver.  With everyone eating the standard American diet which is loaded with pesticides, antibiotics, sugar and hormones our liver is paying the price.  Furthermore, the intake of pharmaceutical drugs and alcohol that is so prevalent in our culture is not helping.  When too many of these substances are digested this causes inflammation and can lead to a leaky gut (food and toxins leak thru damaged intestine walls).  Food and toxins are then trapped in fat cells that are accumulated in the liver.  The liver's function is to process everything we drink or eat and filter any harmful substances in the blood.  This process is interfered with if too much fat has accumulated in the liver. This in turn can cause a variety of conditions including, diabetes, obesity, chronic fatigue, high cholesterol, chronic inflammation, food allergies and metabolic syndrome to name a few.  The liver can regenerate itself and here are a few things I recommend to keep it as healthy as possible!

  • Foods that detoxify your liver- garlic, green tea, turmeric, leafy greens, avocados, and citrus fruits. 
  • Foods/substances to limit- alcohol, pharmaceutical drugs, processed foods, processed meats, sugar and pesticides (eat organic when possible). 
  • Detox your emotions.  In Traditional Chinese Medicine each of our organs has an emotional component which is just as important as its physical function in the body. Anger is the emotion associated with the liver.  I have found that unresolved or repressed anger issues can keep weight on individuals.  I have found a rather quick, effective way to release anger is acupuncture and quantum energy healing.  This will help release any repressed emotions and help bring one to a more balanced state.   

Even if you are not diagnosed with a fatty liver or have symptoms, I guarantee incorporating a cleanse once a year and following the aforementioned suggestions will help with your weight loss and help your body be in a more vibrant, light state!!!
