The vagus nerve is the longest of the cranial nerves. Its functions contribute to the autonomic nervous system. These include sensory, motor and parasympathetic functions. Most notably, the vagus nerve affects blood pressure, heart rate, calmness, relaxation, alertness, and digestion. Moreover, of particular significance to health, one has to look at its role in inflammation. Mounting evidence suggests a common underlying cause of major degenerative diseases is inflammation. Observational studies and laboratory research suggests that inflammation can be a causative factor in many diseases. These include coronary disease, diabetes, cancer, colitis, Alzheimers, autoimmune disorders, just to name a few. Transdermal nerve stimulation with electroacupuncture is currently endorsed by WHO to control pain and inflammation. Furthermore, research shows that acupuncture can specifically stimulate the vagus nerve. Auricular or “ear acupuncture” and some body points are effective in stimulating this nerve. This can address healing such disorders as: • Depression • SIBO • Anxiety • Panic Attacks • Tinnitus • IBS • Weight Gain • Diabetes • Chronic Fatigue • Migraines • MS • Rheumatoid Arthritis Acupuncture can significantly modulate pro inflammatory cytokines, lessoning the inflammation response. In addition, Neuroimmunogenic regulation of inflammation further provides insights into studies on how brain activity affects mind body health. For instance, meditation has been reported to increase vagus nerve activity. This “wanderer” nerve that runs from your brain all the way to your gut is known as a remarkable internal sensory system. This system includes your emotions. “I felt it in my gut”, is derived from this. Science is just now starting to realize the importance of emotions on health. For any disease, for true healing to occur, the emotional undertone needs to be addressed. Working with the electrodynamic field, acupuncture and increasing vagus tone is a natural safe way to regulate emotions, specifically, suppressed emotions. This will lead to true health because all of the bodies: spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical have to be aligned. Many Blessings, Jennifer

It was 1994, when Dr. Masaru Emoto, a Japanese researcher, conducted an experiment where he was looking at the relationship between thought and matter. In this experiment he looked at water crystals in a microscope after directing differing words or thoughts to the water. When he said loving words (I love you, thank you, you are amazing) directed at the water, beautiful, snowflake like crystals would form. However, he observed disfigured crystals when negative words (I hate you, you make me sick) were directed at the water. This experiment was a catalyst to many more experiments that could measure vibrations. We are comprised of 70% water and this discovery proves how powerful words and thoughts are. One of my favorite books that explores this is "Every Word Has Power", by Yvonne Oswald, PhD. What you verbally say and the consistent thought patterns you have has such a profound effect on your life. Everything is comprised of energy and we create our reality with our words and thoughts. In Yvonne's book, she explains ways to harness the power of your conscious mind and your subconscious mind, which is key to creating your life. For example, the subconscious mind does not process negative comments. Everybody has heard the phrase, "Don't think of a pink elephant." You cannot help but think of a pink elephant. Your unconscious mind cannot process negative commands. You can use this knowledge to redirect the subconscious mind. Instead of saying, "I'm sick," a better alternative is to say, "I'm not very healthy." The subconscious will hear, "I'm very healthy." Furthermore, saying, "I'm feeling better and better everyday," would be the best, most empowering way to think and speak. This is also important when redirecting someone. When you say to someone, "don't forget your books," their subconscious hears, "forget your books". A better alternative would be, "please remember your books." In addition to how we communicate with others, how we speak to ourselves is the most important. If someone is consistently saying to themselves, "I'm stupid," that repeated vibration will be in their energy field and the universe will bring by law of attraction a situation to match that particular vibration. This could result in that person feeling the reiteration of that emotion. The universe is essentially a mirror to our thoughts and beliefs, conscious and subconscious! If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought. -Mildred Norman Ryder, a.k.a. Peace Pilgrim (1908-1981) Many blessings,
