The vagus nerve is the longest of the cranial nerves. Its functions contribute to the autonomic nervous system. These include sensory, motor and parasympathetic functions. Most notably, the vagus nerve affects blood pressure, heart rate, calmness, relaxation, alertness, and digestion. Moreover, of particular significance to health, one has to look at its role in inflammation. Mounting evidence suggests a common underlying cause of major degenerative diseases is inflammation. Observational studies and laboratory research suggests that inflammation can be a causative factor in many diseases. These include coronary disease, diabetes, cancer, colitis, Alzheimers, autoimmune disorders, just to name a few. Transdermal nerve stimulation with electroacupuncture is currently endorsed by WHO to control pain and inflammation. Furthermore, research shows that acupuncture can specifically stimulate the vagus nerve. Auricular or “ear acupuncture” and some body points are effective in stimulating this nerve. This can address healing such disorders as: • Depression • SIBO • Anxiety • Panic Attacks • Tinnitus • IBS • Weight Gain • Diabetes • Chronic Fatigue • Migraines • MS • Rheumatoid Arthritis Acupuncture can significantly modulate pro inflammatory cytokines, lessoning the inflammation response. In addition, Neuroimmunogenic regulation of inflammation further provides insights into studies on how brain activity affects mind body health. For instance, meditation has been reported to increase vagus nerve activity. This “wanderer” nerve that runs from your brain all the way to your gut is known as a remarkable internal sensory system. This system includes your emotions. “I felt it in my gut”, is derived from this. Science is just now starting to realize the importance of emotions on health. For any disease, for true healing to occur, the emotional undertone needs to be addressed. Working with the electrodynamic field, acupuncture and increasing vagus tone is a natural safe way to regulate emotions, specifically, suppressed emotions. This will lead to true health because all of the bodies: spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical have to be aligned. Many Blessings, Jennifer

The quick pulse, founded by the prominent healer, spiritual teacher Jo Dunning, is a quantum energy technique that uses source energy to rapidly balance any aspect of the mind, body, and spirit. This healing process can also clear limiting beliefs, low self-esteem, physical conditions, unwanted personality traits, phobias, abundance issues and many other limiting experiences. I was trained by her several years ago and one way I use this work in my practice is to change subconscious beliefs. Negative thoughts and beliefs that are formed especially during the formative years are stored in our subconscious mind. These are often affecting our lives now. We are actually operating from the subconscious mind most of the time. The result is living a life not always congruent with our creative conscious mind. This mind ruling the show often leads to addictions, stress, and low self worth issues affecting all levels of our lives. I personally believe that a vast majority of health related issues have an underlining emotional issue. These first manifest in the emotional body and then will surface in the physical body if the issue is not addressed. For instance, cancer is often repressed resentment or anger, low back pain is often fear of lack of money, and knee pain is reluctance to moving forward in one area of life. In addition, I have found this work to be beneficial in working with fertility patients. If someone believes they can't get pregnant, won't be a good mom, can't afford to have children, too old to have children, etc., they will have difficulty conceiving. One main job of the subconscious is to keep you safe. If the subconscious mind believes an experience might jeopardize your safety, it will keep that experience from you. Our body is our internal guidance system always trying to communicate with us. When we are in pain, fatigued, anxious, depressed, the answer always lies within and seldom cured by taking a medication. Ask your body what it is trying to convey to you. Do the inner work of clearing subconscious beliefs. There are numerous methods to do this, a few examples are:
"Know Thyself" Socrates. Many blessings to you, Jennifer So many people come to me to lose weight and of course thyroid, hormone, candida issues aside, there is also one component that has to be addressed to effectively lose weight and keep it off. That component is the health of the liver. With everyone eating the standard American diet which is loaded with pesticides, antibiotics, sugar and hormones our liver is paying the price. Furthermore, the intake of pharmaceutical drugs and alcohol that is so prevalent in our culture is not helping. When too many of these substances are digested this causes inflammation and can lead to a leaky gut (food and toxins leak thru damaged intestine walls). Food and toxins are then trapped in fat cells that are accumulated in the liver. The liver's function is to process everything we drink or eat and filter any harmful substances in the blood. This process is interfered with if too much fat has accumulated in the liver. This in turn can cause a variety of conditions including, diabetes, obesity, chronic fatigue, high cholesterol, chronic inflammation, food allergies and metabolic syndrome to name a few. The liver can regenerate itself and here are a few things I recommend to keep it as healthy as possible!
Even if you are not diagnosed with a fatty liver or have symptoms, I guarantee incorporating a cleanse once a year and following the aforementioned suggestions will help with your weight loss and help your body be in a more vibrant, light state!!! Many blessings to you, Jennifer |
